What is bakuchiol?

It is obtained from the seeds of Psoralea Corylifolia, also known as babchi, an Indian herb frequently used in Ayurvedic medicine.

Bakuchiol helps reduce blemishes thanks to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Bakuchiol can effectively target bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) found in the sebum of pores. Applying it to the skin limits the production of inflammatory molecules and the oxidation of important lipids, or good fats.

This clever active also works to prevent the breakdown of collagen and elastin, repair skin damage, and visibly reduce scars and blemishes.

1) Why should you use bakuchiol?

Like retinol, bakuchiol helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles while also improving skin firmness and elasticity.

2) Is bakuchiol as effective as retinol?

In addition to being less irritating than retinol, bakuchiol has been found to be just as effective. It's a great solution for those with sensitive skin or as an entry-level product.

3) How should bakuchiol be applied to the skin?

Bakuchiol in serum form should be applied to cleansed skin before moisturizer (as it is thinner than moisturizer) and is safe to apply up to twice daily. Apply to clean, dry skin.

Bakuchiol 1% Serum can be applied to the entire face . It's especially important to apply it around the eyes, where skin is thinner and imperfections tend to be more noticeable. It can also be used topically, just on areas affected by imperfections. To apply the serum, pour 3 to 6 drops into the palm of your hand. 2-3 drops are sufficient for the face and 5-6 drops for the neck/décolleté area. Apply evenly using your fingertips to your face and neck. Massage gently.

Frequency of use : Bakuchiol is not a photosensitizer and does not increase skin sensitivity to the sun's UV rays. Therefore, you can apply it MORNING AND EVENING. However, always be sure to protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water. Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight, with the lid closed.
