Bakuchiol

What is Bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is a natural ingredient derived from the seeds of the Babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia). Used for many years in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, bakuchiol has become popular in skincare as a natural, herbal alternative to retinol (a derivative of vitamin A). Like retinol, it's effective but gentler, making it suitable for sensitive skin.

Effects on Skin Care:

Anti-aging effects: Bakuchiol may reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It improves skin elasticity and promotes a firmer appearance. These effects offer similar results to retinol.

Evens skin tone: Brightens and balances skin tone by reducing hyperpigmentation and dark spots.

Suitable for sensitive skin: Unlike retinol, bakuchiol does not cause skin irritation, redness, or peeling. Even those with sensitive and dry skin can use it safely.

Supports collagen production: Provides a firmer and fuller appearance by renewing skin cells. Strengthens the skin barrier by increasing collagen production.

Ideal for acne-prone skin: Thanks to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it reduces the appearance of acne and helps balance the oil in the skin.

Antioxidant protection: Protects the skin from environmental damage and premature aging by fighting free radicals.

Areas of Use:

Bakuchiol is frequently used in anti-aging serums, facial oils, moisturizers, and anti-blemish products. It's suitable for all skin types and can generally be used day or night. It's also preferred for daytime care because it's safer from the sun than retinol products.

Key Advantages:

It provides retinol-like benefits without irritating the skin.

Being a natural and herbal alternative has made it popular in clean and vegan skincare products.

With long-term use, it gives the skin a smooth, bright and youthful appearance.
