Calendula Flower Extract

What is Oil-Soluble Calendula Extract (in Sunflower Oil)?
Calendula (Calendula officinalis) is a medicinal plant frequently used in traditional medicine for skin problems. Oil-soluble calendula extract is obtained by infusing calendula flowers in a carrier oil, usually cold-pressed sunflower oil, to extract their active ingredients (flavonoids, carotenoids, saponins, and triterpenoids).
Sunflower oil is popular in skincare thanks to its light texture and high vitamin E content, and it is an excellent carrier oil for calendula extract.
Effects on Skin Care:
Soothing and anti-inflammatory effects: Calendula soothes inflammation and calms irritated or sensitive skin. It has soothing effects on skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and rashes.
Accelerates skin regeneration: It promotes cell renewal, which helps heal scars, stretch marks and minor cuts.
Moisturizing and nourishing: Vitamin E in sunflower oil and bioactive components of the calendula plant moisturize, soften and give elasticity to the skin.
Antioxidant protection: Calendula protects the skin against environmental damage and signs of aging by fighting free radicals.
Ideal for acne-prone skin: Thanks to its antibacterial properties, it can reduce bacteria on the skin, helping to prevent acne formation. Its lightweight texture also doesn't clog pores.
Safe for sensitive skin: With its gentle and natural structure, it can even be used in baby skin products.
Areas of Use:
Oil-soluble calendula extract is found in many skin care products, including facial oils, body balms, lip balms, soothing creams, and baby care products. The light and easily absorbed nature of sunflower oil provides effective care without disrupting the skin's natural balance. It's an ideal ingredient for dry, sensitive, and irritated skin.
